What is a Home Staging Professional?

Home Staging first emerged in California in the 1970's and since then there has been several training programs offering Home Staging Certification or Accreditation. Some of the more popular training courses in Canada are, Haverhill Institute of Staging and Design, the Canadian Staging Professionals and the Staging Diva Program just to name a few.

The field of Home Staging however, still remains a completely Unregulated Field. This means that there is NO one Independent Body or Organization that governs the training or professional conduct of Home Stagers.

When deciding on a Home Stager make sure you ask them a lot of questions. You want to feel comfortable with the Stager or your choice and you need to be able trust them to put your best interests first. Here a few questions to keep in mind:

• Is the Stager willing to work within Your budget and time frame?
• Do they have a professional Website? Before and After pictures?
• Do they offer creative solutions using the items already in your home or are they just interested in up-selling more expense add-on services to you?

Your home is your most important asset and you want it to look it's very best and sell for the most money possible. A Staging professional will help you present your home in the best possible light, offering a variety of Services while working within your budget and time frame.
