FAQs
1. What is difference between Home Staging and Re Design? Home Staging is the art of preparing a home for sale. It's the process of cleaning, de-cluttering, organizing and neutralizing a property so that buyers can see the home's full potential. Redesign is done for the benefit and enjoyment of the homeowner. It's the art of arranging the homeowner's existing furniture, art and accessories to enhance the architectural details and to create warm and inviting rooms. 2. How much should I plan on spending to stage my home? It all depends on how much of the work you want to do yourself and how much the Home Stager will do for you. On average you should plan on spending about 1% of the list price of the property. Staging will typically cost you less than the amount of a price reduction. Staging your home is an Investment in your Most Valuable Asset. 3. Why should I decorate a home I'm leaving? Decorating is about personal choice, while Staging is about appealing to a wide variety of potential buyers. Buyers can have a difficult time seeing past the decor, personal items and furniture to see a home's potential. Many buyers are unwilling or unable to address repairs or update fixtures. Staging is about creating an atmosphere that allows buyers to visualize themselves living in the home. Buyers view a Staged Home as Maintenance Free and Move in Ready. 4. How long does it the Staging Process take? The Home Staging process can take anywhere from a day to a week or more. It will depend on how much work you are planning on doing yourself, your time constraints and budget requirements. 5. Will I have rent or purchase furniture and accessories? A good Stager will use the furniture and accessories that are already in the home. If required, and the Home Owner requests it, Designed to Sell Home Staging will supply quality furniture and accessories for rent and/or purchase. 6. What if I've already moved and my house is empty? An empty home makes it difficult for a buyer to see the home's full potential because it's hard to imagine where the furniture should go, or what room would work as an office. That's the reason why most Home Builders furnish Model Homes. They aren't just selling a home, they are selling a Lifestyle. If you unable to furnish the entire home, a Vignette is a good alternative. A Vignette is a collection of accessories or props that will highlight a room's uses or it's architectural details. An good example of this is to set out a luxurious robe, towel and a sea sponge in the bathroom to look as if someone is about to take a bath. 7. Why should I hire a home stager? An Accredited Home Stager knows exactly what it takes to make a home attractive to a wide array of potential buyers. Staged Homes typically sell 50% faster and for 5-10% more than an Unstaged home. For an average priced home this could mean thousands of dollars, not to mention how it will facilitate a quicker sale. Can you afford NOT to hire a stager?
